6 Earth Derived Skincare Products For A Healthier Body

Start the New Year with earth derived skincare products

I received samples of skincare products to facilitate this post but all opinions are my own.

The cold winter months can do a number on my skin making my dry skin feel even less soft. All the extra handwashing that I do to keep the germs away leaves my hands extra dry. My fingertips tend to crack also and this is the season that my eczema flares up. So if I don't shake your hand, it is not a germ phobia but rather my sensitive skin problem. Last year just one hand had dermatitis on it and after I stopped shaking hands at church, it cleared up. So I figured out that other people's body oils were causing me to have a rash on my right hand. Keep reading to discover 4 Earth Derived Skincare Products For A Healthier Body

So I like to pamper my skin with skincare products that have extra benefits for winter skin. So it is even more important to me to use products that have natural ingredients that do not irritate my dry sensitive skin. When I select skincare products, I like ones that have natural non-toxic ingredients. I like skincare ingredients that are plant-based. Your skin is like a sponge so what you put on your skin gets into your bloodstream. So I like my beauty products to have earth derived ingredients that are safe for my sensitive skin. I also like using skincare products that have natural fragrances as chemical scents tend to aggravate my asthma so I always look for beauty products that use essential oils for natural scents. Do you know that your favorite fragrance could be loaded with chemicals? So when a beauty product says fragrance it can be loaded with chemicals as companies do not have to disclose their secret ingredients. Read this article to discover more about chemicals in fragrances.

A warm shower is always the best on a cold day

So on this cold dreary day, after I did my gym workout, I decided that the best place to be was in a warm shower. I grabbed some new allergy-friendly skincare products that I discovered so I could enjoy some relaxing time in the shower to get the sweat off my body. I am that girl who likes to get a good daily sweat session in at the gym as sweating is good for you in so many ways. I don't shower often in the winter, as it drys out my skin and hair. Most days I just wipe off my body with a wet towel. So on the days that I shower, I enjoy my warm shower and tend to stay in there for a long time so I can wash my hair with a sulfate-free shampoo. Since I started using a sulfate-free shampoo, my hair has developed some beautiful spiral curls as I guess regular shampoo was not only drying my hair out but also weighing it down. Also since I started using vegan/plant-based skincare products, my skin is less itchy and my eczema has improved. So that is why I am excited to tell you about some amazing skincare products with ingredients in them that are derived from the earth.

1. Earth Love’s Glowing Places body oil w/benefits

After I take a shower in the winter, I always moisturized my skin while it is still wet. This helps with my dry skin. I like using thick creams and oils in the winter and Earth Love’s Glowing Places body oil was so easy to apply to my body. The spray bottle gave me the right amount of oil and I did not have oil dripping everywhere. This oil made my skin feel silky and soft. I even used it on my face as it has anti-aging benefits in it. The body oil is made from a rich blend of lipids, ceramides, vitamins, and nutrients and is great for head to toe moisturizing. Several hours later my skin still felt soft. I love that the bottle is plastic so I can store it in my shower so I can apply it before I get out of the shower. The spray bottle even locks so I can bring it with when I travel.

Ingredient highlights:
  • Organic argan oil from Morocco. Loaded with vitamin E and fatty acids that are great for adding moisture to the skin. Argan oil absorbs quickly and is non-greasy and non-irritating.
  • Watermelon seed (Kalahari) oil. Rich in vitamins and minerals, watermelon seed oil dissolves sebum, evens skin tone and reduces puffiness.
  • Organic rose hip oil from Poland. Contains provitamin A and a high concentration of essential fatty acids.
  • Organic pomegranate seed oil. Consisting mostly of omega-5 (punicic acid) this oil is incredibly nourishing for the skin. It is also one of the few plant sources for conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Pomegranate seed oil helps reduce the appearance of aging.
  • Lavender and tea tree essential oils lend a soothing, fresh aromatherapy effect

2. The Good Stuff Botanicals’ Gypsy Cream

Living in the desert and having to run the heat in the winter makes my skin so dry. Add all the extra handwashing to keep the germs away and my hands sometimes just scream for a thick cream. So after my shower, I applied The Good Stuff Botanicals Gypsy Cream to my irritated extra dry hands. This skin cream soothed the cracks on my fingertips. I liked that the cream has hemp seed oil in it, so I applied the Gypsy Cream to my arm that I pulled a muscle in last week. The hemp seed oil gives the cream anti-inflammatory benefits that took away the pain in my arm and my fingertips. This potent cream was created to treat psoriasis so I will keep the container by my computer so I can apply several times a day on my dry hands. It also has a nice scent to it.

Take a look at all the natural ingredients in the Gypsy cream.

Ingredients: Certified Organic Raw Hemp Seed Oil, Montana Mineral Water, Certified Organic Raw Shea Butter, Aloe Vera with naturally derived potassium sorbate, Certified Organic Beeswax.
Gypsy Cream does NOT contain GMOs, Parabens, Sulfates, Fragrance, Alcohol, Chemicals or Dyes!

3. Life Elements’ Facial Wash

I had never used a powder face wash before so having to mix it up was different to me. The bottle was glass so I had to grab a plastic container to place some of the face powder into as I did not want to bring a glass bottle in the shower. The Powder Face Wash made a nice brown paste and reminded me of a mud mask. As I applied the product to my face, I noticed that it had some texture to it, so my face got some exfoliation from the Avena Sativia (oat) Kernel powder. The earthy product gave my face a nice massage and rinsed off very well.

I love that aloe, lavender & other natural ingredients are in the powder wash!

Ingredients:
Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Powder, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Powder, Lavandin (Lavender) Buds Powder, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Powder, Zingiber officinale (Ginger) Powder, Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Leaf Powder, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Hibiscus Sabdariffa, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Powder, Gelidium Amansii (Agar Agar), Mimosa tenuiflora (Tepezcohuite), Xanthan Gum

4. Babe and Body’s Trio

Three great products to make winter skin feel better. Babeandbody.com sent me some aromatherapeutic scrubs that smelled awesome. The Countess Grey’s rejuvenating hands and feet scrub had a nice lemon scent and I like that it had Hawaiian black lava salt in it. So while I used the magnesium scrub on my skin to scrub away the dryness, I thought about a Hawaii vacation that my husband and I are planning. This body scrub is made to have the smell of Earl Grey tea but since I never had this type of tea, I could not compare it to that. I did enjoy the scent so much that I have to try Earl Grey Tea. This scrub is made from three ingredients: Black Lava Salt, Lemon Oil, and
Bergamot Oil.

The Babe & Body Shower Yoga also had a nice aromatherapy scent to it. This natural body scrub combines dead sea salt with magnesium, lemon, and lavender. I used this scrub on my legs and feet and enjoyed the nice scent. This scrub would be amazing to use the next time I take a bath as I could let the magnesium soak into my skin to help soothe my tired muscles and relax my body.

After my shower, I enjoyed using the Pyjama Mama lip scrub on my lips. I know I was not supposed to lick my lips but this scrub had a nice sweet coconut taste to it. The lip scrub has ingredients like coconut sugar, avocado, and shea butter so I knew that a taste would not harm me. I just used the lip treatment for a couple of minutes and not overnight like it is intended as I knew that I would lick it off in my sleep. My lips still felt softer even though I only used it for a short time

I loved my mini spa in the shower

I enjoyed my shower and these 4 Earth Derived Skincare Products did a great job of pampering my skin. My skin felt soft and smooth. I felt refreshed and relaxed at the same time. My skin no longer felt dry and irritated. These are natural products that I will be enjoying as they make shower time feel like a spa day at home. The natural scents smelled so good, especially the products that had lemon in them. I left my bathroom feeling like this hot air balloon that I snapped a picture of last year when I attended the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

What a fun group of products! I live a half block from the Chesapeake Bay so even in the winter it is pretty humid. I do love the idea of the spray oil, though. So much easier to get the right amount with no mess. I would love to try it out.

I didn't know these products and thank you for talking about them. The natural is something that goes beyond what you eat, organic or kilometer 0, but it also passes through what we put on ourselves. Natural cosmetics are the future for us and the planet.

I've used that Babe & Body scrub and it's one of my favorite products because you can use it a few times a week and it doesn't break down the natural oils on your skin. Great stuff here!

I want to try the Earth Love’s Glowing Places body oil. I use baby oil after my shower, also while my skin is still wet. It locks in the moisture and my skin does not get dry and flaky. I love the Earth Love's packaging because it is in a spray bottle. That would be so easy to use and no wastage too.
