I made a decision to lose the weight around my middle section

Turning fifty was when I decided that it was time to do something about my health. It was after my daughter's wedding that I saw myself in photos that I realized that my body was revealing what I already knew. I knew that cholesterol numbers were not in a healthy range and the photo of my stomach was all I needed to make changes in my diet. I was that person who thought that exercise was good enough and it did not matter what I ate. Turning fifty was my "oh crap moment" for me. It was the "I got to take charge of my health before it gets any worse" moment. So I decided to start making healthy changes in the food I was eating. I decide to make some changes based on a book that I started reading a week ago. You can find out more about this book HERE.

Fast forward four years and I decided that I needed to try a different way of eating as my current food plan was not making a difference in my stomach or my cholesterol numbers. Sure over the past four years, I have seen some amazing changes in my body just by eating more protein, fruits, and veggies and eating less sugar and junk food. I had lost inches in my arms and they were less flabby but my belly was still a trouble spot for my health. The body composition tests told the truth that I had an unhealthy amount of fat around my core section and that was putting me at risk for heart disease. It did not help that high cholesterol ran in the family. So I decided to follow a food challenge that changed the way I have tackled weight loss in the past. Notice I did not say I was following a diet plan because I know that diets don't work. I am the last person who would follow many of the fad diets, not because I have zero will power when it comes to eating but many diets simply don't offer lasting results.

Based on surprising science, Always Eat After 7 PM debunks popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night.

The Always Eat After 7 PM Book Challenge was different as it was not about dieting but rather about changing how I eat. This book was not a traditional boring diet book that had me restricting my carbohydrate intake nor did it have unrealistic eating rules like don't eat meals after a certain time. This food plan allowed me to enjoy a bedtime snack, in fact, it encouraged eating before bed. The author of the book Joel Marion talked about a study that was published in the journal Nutrition, which showed that the time of day does not matter when it comes to eating and gaining weight but rather the total amount of calories. MYTH #1: EATING FOOD AFTER 7 pm MAKES YOU FAT was one of four dieting myths that Joel Marion talked about is the Always Eat After 7 PM Book. The other diet myths that talked about carbs and late-night eating also made sense to me.

Another reason I decided to follow The Always Eat After 7 PM challenge was for the fact that my current fitness plan and healthy eating was not making a difference in my stomach. The rest of my body was in great shape but my middle section was not changing. No amount of ab exercise or cardio exercise was taking off inches from my belly. My arms and legs were in great shape but the baby fat was not going away. I could not blame it on my kids no more as the youngest is 12 years old. I wanted to reduce the fat from my stomach so I would not have health problems as I aged. I wanted to be able to stay healthy so I could enjoy life to the fullest.

Bestselling author, Joel Marion, is a fitness expert and nutritionist debunking the myths underlying traditional dieting and offers a simple, highly effective weight loss program.

This was a food plan that made sense to me and I could follow. Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of the reasons for resistance. The fact that I could still enjoy carbs and eat a snack before bed was a big factor in my decision to try the plan. Joel stated that carbs can help induce a deeper sleep as they help ramp up the sleep hormones. I sure could use a deeper sleep.

One part of this non-traditional diet that I thought was going to be a challenge for me was the time that I could have breakfast in the morning as the book recommends a fasting time to help maximize my fat burning. I was relieved to learn that even an 12-hour intermittent fasting could make a difference and the 3-minute-fat burning ritual encouraged me to give this meal plan a try. That late-night snack would help give me the willpower to stick with the three different phases of The Always Eat After 7 PM plan.

Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion is now available to purchase.

I am so glad that this book might just be able to help you lose that fat around the middle. I had that problem last year and I decided to reduce sugars and junk in my diet and now I no longer have love handles which is great.

Your diet plan is simply great, however the timing of your meals can affect your body's weight regulation, metabolic regulation, heart heath and sleep cycle too.

It is good that you have identified your goal and am now working towards it. I'm sure this lockdown has not helped any. There is a joke going around about the Quarantine-15...as in gaining 15 pounds during quarantine. I've heard that some people have already gained more than that because they are cooking up a storm at home.

I hope this works out for you, how's it been going so far? I'm giving it a go as well hoping it's a lifestyle change I can stick with. Skipping breakfast and eating after 6pm are so against everything I've ever been told, but I'm really hoping this works haha!!

I've seen so many people taking part in this challenge. It's not something I can do because of my meal plan but I commend anyone for trying.

I have heard of this book and now I am really curious as to how you can eat whatever you want and still lose weight. However I believe that exercise is still required to keep yourself fit.
