Grandbox Helps You Stay Connected During A Virus Pandemic

Staying connected with grandparents is hard

I received a sample from GrandBox to facilitate this post

We are living in difficult times right now and I believe everyone is experiencing things like stress and loneliness while the world is experiencing a respiratory lung virus outbreak. The covid pandemic has drastically changed everyone's life, some more than others. The past three months have been hard on everyone, from babies to the elderly. The things that we have to do to prevent the C lung virus from spreading, like wearing a facemask, have been overwhelming for my family at times.

Then I think about my mom, who is a widow and who lives in another state. I think about my father-in-law who is in an assisted living center and I realize that theses times are even more challenging for the elderly. The elderly are one of the groups that we are trying to protect from this deadly virus and while we are slowing coming out of sheltering in place, most elderly are still having to stay home. While we can choose to quarantine ourselves, for people like our grandparents they don't have a choice, especially when they live in a senior citizen facility. The place where my father-in-law lives have been on lockdown since march, so the only way we can stay in touch with grandpa is through window visits, phone calls, or online video calls. So if you are like me, you are probably looking for creative ways to cheer up a senior citizen while having to do your part to flatten the curve.

GrandBox lets someone know that you are thinking of them

A simple box made for older folks can mean the world to someone who can't leave their house. My husband's dad had his world turned upside down since March. It all started with his assisted living facility being put on lockdown in the middle of March and then in April, dad fell and broke his leg. It was hard to see dad/grandpa have to be alone in the hospital, especially since we could not visit as we had to practice social distancing. When grandpa was transferred to rehab, he had to be quarantined in his room for two weeks and the only way we could visit him was through his bedroom window. This being alone took a toll on my father-in-law's mind and his wellbeing. The surgery to fix his broken leg also did not help him either.

My father-in-law spent 6 weeks at the rehab place and was not able to go back to his original assistant living place. He had to move into a place that could better take care of him as he could no longer walk. So while his leg had several more months to heal, my husband moved his dad to a new senior living place. It was not an easy thing to do as my husband could not enter the nursing homes. The staff at dad's old place packed up all his items and put them on the curb so my husband could take them to dad's new living place for seniors. Dad had to again be placed on a two-week quarantine. We again did a window visit with grandpa but it was not the same as visiting my husband's dad in person.

So I am glad that I discover a box filled with items that seniors will love as I knew that this would bring a smile to grandpa's face. I will have to send my mom a Grandbox too as she will enjoy the puzzle book and snacks that are in this gift box. GrandBox even encloses a letter and photos that you downloaded online so your loved one can see your faces while they open their special box. It is so easy to send these boxes to your grandma or mom every month. These senior-friendly boxes will cheer up your grandpa or dad. GrandBox packs the boxes with healthy snacks and other items that seniors will love. The boxes will keep the older folks active with puzzle books and happy with snacks.

So put a smile on someone you love and send them a GrandBox. You can even save 25% with my special code momknowsbest when it is applied at the checkout. The GrandBox is the best way to say I love you during a time when we can't visit grandparents in person.

What an innovative way to express our love for the elderly, especially during this time when most are isolated from each other. This will really go a long way to make them feel that they are remembered.

What a great idea for loved ones that live further away. I would totally order something like this. I'm fortunate as our parents live only a few houses away. And luckily we all get along. LOL

Such an awesome idea and good to think of parents for such things, sometimes I think we tend to neglect them, but such thoughtful gifts can go a long way in making them feel special
