Huel Nutrition Helps Me Power Through Busy Days

My Mondays can be crazy and busy. It is the start of my week and I tend to have a lot to do. I have things to write and emails to answer. Then there is the housework. Everyone has been home all weekend and we are busy going places so nothing gets done. So that leaves me with a house to clean, laundry to get done, and work to be completed. I find myself with little time to eat so I grab snacks from the pantry all day. My husband can tell how busy my day has been by looking at all the food wrappers around my computer. I try my best to eat healthy snacks but that doesn't always happen. These so-called healthy snacks can leave my energy levels low so I reach for many cups of coffee to try to power through these busy days. Sometimes my Mondays can be almost any day of the week as I also drive the kids to school and other places. A mom's day can be never-ending.

Crazy days can leave me reaching for unhealthy foods

I received samples of Huel to facilitate this post.

So when a company reached out to me and introduced me to their Huel nutritionally complete food powder, I was interested in learning more. At first, I thought that Huel was a protein powder and that sounded good to me as I drink a protein smoothie every morning. Then I realized that the Huel was a complete meal replacement that is way healthier than my morning protein shake. The name Huel had a nice ring to it and made me think of fuel. One needs fuel to have their body run well and I knew that I had to try this perfectly balanced and nutritionally complete meal powder. The Huel powder sounded awesome to me as was high in protein and fiber, low in sugar and salt, rich in phytonutrients, and contains all 27 essential vitamins and minerals. I had to give Huel a try as it sounded like the perfect food for my busy days.

Lots of variety is good

I love that Huel comes in many flavors like chocolate, vanilla, and berry. If that was not enough variety for me, I could use their Flavor Boost packs for even more flavors. I also loved that Huel came in bags instead of those bulky plastic containers like my favorite protein powder. I can only reuse so many plastic containers and I hate that they fill up my recycle bin. An environmentally friendly flat bag takes up way less space. So the resealable Huel bags were awesome to me. For days that I needed to be out the door in the morning, I loved that Huel came in ready-to-drink bottles.

Huel is far superior nutrition to most conventional diets

The first time I tried Huel was when I was headed out the door to my kid's school event. I knew that they would be serving something like chips and sandwiches at the event and I did not want to eat that. I had little time to eat before we left so I grabbed a bottle of ready-to-drink vanilla Huel. I drank the Huel while driving to the boy's school. This nutrition drink had a nice taste and was very creamy. I loved that the drink was vegan so that meant it was dairy-free. Always a plus for me as I have a dairy allergy. When I arrived at my kid's school I looked at the bottle of Huel and was amazed at all the nutrition that was packed into this delicious drink. It was a complete meal in a bottle that did not taste those other chalky chemical drinks that I have used in the past. This meal replacement drink was made with real food like Oats, Tapioca, Brown Rice, Flaxseed, Sunflower, Coconut, Peas, Oats, Flaxseed, and Chicory. I was able to get 20 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber in one drink.

A food that has just the right amount of protein, essential fats, fiber, carbohydrates, and all 27 essential vitamins & minerals. Huel Powder is all this and much more. It’s vegan, lactose-free, soy-free, GMO-free, high in protein and contains less than 2% sugar.

Easy to mix powder

The next day I tried the Huel Powdered after I went running. Working out always leaves me hungry so having a meal with plenty of protein is great for my muscles and my hunger. I discovered 2 years ago that upping the protein in my diet has helped me to tone my body better. I mixed up the chocolate flavor in a shaker bottle. It did not take long to mix up. The Huel powder made a creamy drink that was a pleasure to drink after exercising. After I had the Huel meal replacement drink, I got busy with work and it was several hours before I was hungry again. I will be drinking Huel on my busy work days when I do not have time to make a meal.

Huel sells a wide variety of Ready-to-drink meals and powders, making nutrition fast, easy and affordable.

The perfect traveling meal

I hate having to spend money at the airport on overpriced food that is not very healthy. So I tend to pack healthy snacks but they take up space in my carry-on bag. I will be bringing Huel when I travel next month to California for a fitness conference. This complete meal replacement will be super easy to mix up once I get past security and it will keep me full for several hours. That way I won't be tempted to buy the overpriced, unhealthy food at the airport. I like that Huel is made with real food and is so easy to pack. This delicious drink would be great for my son at college when he has a busy schedule and also when he has to study for finals. Huel is the perfect grab-and-go meal replacement.

Get Your Greens In A Vegan Orange Mango Smoothie

A delicious way to eat those leafy greens!

I love my morning smoothies. They are a great way to get 2-3 servings of fruits and veggies into my day. I also make my smoothies with protein powder so my smoothie is a complete meal. When I eat 15- 20 grams of protein in the morning this keeps me satisfied so I am not snacking all morning. I also recently discovered that we ladies need more protein as we get older to prevent the dreadful muscle sag that tends to happen in our arms. More protein in my diet, exercise, healthy eating, and simple weightlifting is what keeps my arms and the rest of my body looking good. This Vegan Orange Mango smoothie has plenty of flavor in it so you can not taste the spinach. It is a delicious way to get some healthy greens into your diet. I also add an avocado to the smoothie for some healthy fats. I love the taste of avocados and can eat them by themselves as they as so creamy.

I added healthy protein smoothies to my diet three years ago when I turned 50 and was not happy with the way my body was looking. The weight was creeping on and my arms were flabby. It was then that I discovered that my body was lacking protein. In a couple of months, my body started to tone up. I eat a meatless diet and I was not consuming the protein that my body needed. A smoothie is just one of many ways to Get More Protein Without Eating Meat. My morning smoothie also fills me up with plenty of nutrition and the protein keeps me satisfied all morning so I do not snack on on cookies. Another smoothie that I am enjoying is an Energizing Berry Beet Smoothie that I make with a concentrated beet powder that is so incredibly sweet so it makes my smoothie so delicious and healthy.

This delicious smoothie is also dairy free which is a plus for me. I have always had dairy issues with the lactose but I am cutting out dairy from my diet to see if my seasonal allergies get better. This year I have had a lot of asthmatic coughing and my allergy medicines are not working as well. So I will be eliminating dairy from diet to see if that helps.

Lemon Pie Smoothie With Turmeric & Giveaway

I recently went to a wonderful fitness conference and sampled a yummy lemon turmeric drink from a brand that was at the nutrition expo. So when I got home I just had to recreate this drink as I craving the tart lemon flavor and also wanted the benefits of the turmeric in my body. Did you know turmeric is great for those sore muscles after working out?

I was excited when Siggi’s sent me some coupons to buy their yummy yogurt. They were also at the conference and provided us bloggers with plenty of yogurts for breakfast and snacks. I love that their creamy yogurt has only 11 grams of sugar and more protein (16 grams) than most yogurts. This wonderful dairy product is made from simple ingredients like milk, cane sugar, fruit, and fruit pectin. The milk is sourced from family farms that never use growth hormones. I think I found my new favorite yogurt! My boys were happy that there was plenty of Siggi’s in our refrigerator. The youngest loves eating yogurt and eats it all day. This mom approves!

So what makes Siggi's so special?
Siggi's is an Icelandic skyr (pronounced "skeer") which is a strained yogurt that has been a staple in the Icelandic diet for more than 1000 years. The founder Siggi Hilmarsson was unhappy with the too sweet and artificial yogurts in the US so his mother sent him a recipe for skyr, a wholesome, unprocessed food from his childhood. Siggi started making this strained yogurt in his small New York kitchen and soon realized that he needed to start selling this yogurt.  He quit his day job and open up a full-scale dairy plant in Upstate New York.
