Many thanks to Reel Big Studios for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.
If you ask me what my favorite holiday is, the answer would be Easter. Easter has always been a holiday that I look forward to. As a child, I loved Easter egg hunts and finding my Easter basket on Easter morning. When I became an adult, Easter took on a whole new meaning for me.
As a child, I did not know who Jesus was or even that there was a God. My parents did not attend church. We simply celebrated Easter as a holiday that was all about chocolate bunnies and getting together with family. Then after a tragic death in the family and severe depression that almost led to me dying, I started searching for answers. After many years of getting nowhere, I was introduced to Jesus. It was while I was attending college, that I gave my life to Jesus.
Easter is all about the cross and the love of Jesus
Easter Sunday is now all about me receiving a second chance at life. Celebrating Jesus's death may seem strange to some people but to those who have accepted Him, it is about the love that Jesus has for us. That He chose to take our punishment for our sins and die on the cross. It is about Jesus rising from the grave and giving us hope.

Synopsis of Forty-Seven Days with Jesus: A disconnected family finds hope and unity through a cinematic retelling of Jesus’ final 47 days on Earth. Starring Yoshi Barrigas and Catherine Lidstone from The Chosen and featuring unforgettable original music, FORTY-SEVEN DAYS WITH JESUS brings the Easter story to life and reminds us of The Gospel’s enduring impact.
If you love musicals, you will love how this movie retells the final 47 days of Jesus in a musical format. This movie does a wonderful job of retelling the bible story of Jesus' final days. The movie starts with a typical family living today, living their busy life and getting ready for Easter. This family was preparing for Easter Sunday without a focus on Jesus.
That all changed when the grandpa of the family decided to read a bedtime story to the grandkids. The story was written with facts from the bible about the days leading up to Jesus dying on the cross. This led to the children wanting to know more and the parents remembering the story that they had heard as children.
Forty-Seven Days with Jesus brings the meaning of Easter to life in a format that is friendly for the whole family.
If you have seen the movie The Passion For Christ, then you know that most movies about the death of Jesus are not suitable for kids to watch. What Jesus went through before Easter was not pretty, like the typical Easter story that kids learn in Sunday school. Kids are not ready to handle, the scary painful parts and I think that the producers of this movie thought about that.
You will love how this movie is written with the whole family in mind. This movie helps kids understand the true Easter story without the bloody scary parts.
