Celebrate Cinco De Mayo The Healthy Way

Cinco de Mayo is almost here! Celebrate the healthy way!

Did you know that one regular Margarita is over 600 calories per serving?
I have some delicious healthy drink recipes that will knock those calories down to about 55 calories. These delicious drinks use my favorite zero calorie drinks. Cascade Ice is a zero-calorie sparkling drink that comes in many refreshing flavors and they are great for making healthy Cinco de Mayo drinks. Since you are saving so many calories, you can treat yourself to both of these wonderfully tasty drinks.

Kiwi-Strawberry Marg
You can't pass up a margarita, especially when it's low-cal! Make this drink by slicing up about 10 strawberries and 3 kiwis. Put the fruit into a blender with ½ cup of lime juice, 6 oz of tequila, 4 oz of Cascade Ice Zero-Calorie Kiwi Strawberry Sparkling Water and a handful of ice cubes. Blend together until smooth.  Pour into a glass rimmed with sugar and add a slice of kiwi or a strawberry to garnish.

Skinny Daquiri
Not a fan of tequila? No problem! Try a delicious Skinny Daiquiri. To create this sweet treat, add 1 1/2 cups of ice and 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries into your blender. Pour in 8oz Cascade Ice Zero-Calorie Wild Berry Sparking Water and your choice of rum. Blend until smooth. Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with fresh fruit.

Cascade Ice is sold at most grocery stores including Kroger, Smiths, Albertsons, and so many more!

Healthy drinks need some healthy snacks.

These Cornbread Crisps from Farmers Pantry are the perfect wholesome snack to enjoy on Cinco de Mayo. These crispy delights are baked and not fried. They are so delicious. They have a delightful cornbread taste to them. The crispy texture reminds me of the top part of a slice of cornbread. My family enjoyed these straight out of the bag and then requested that I buy these. I think these would be great to enjoy with a bowl of chili for a healthy version of frito pie or with a bowl of guacamole. I love that they have 10 grams of whole grains and come in flavors like jalapeno, honey butter, and original. The jalapeno crisps had great flavor and mild heat as my 10-year-old tasted them and said: "mom these were not made in New Mexico as they are not hot." I love that my son is starting to like spicy food.

This is awesome! It's great to know that there are alternative to the drinks that we've come to love during parties and gatherings. It's nice to be able to stick to your diet even when you're in a party.

I have had Cascade Ice beverages before, but haven't used them to make other drinks before. I love the color of the first drink, and how it incorporates kiwi.
