I recently joined the “no-poo” movement. No, it has nothing to do with the potty as my boys would like to think that I was potty talking. The “no-poo” movement instead has to do with co-washing, which is short for “conditioner washing” or cleansing your hair with just conditioner. This co-washing movement has taken the beauty industry by storm and I decided it was time for me to join in on the “no-poo” movement. My dry hair could sure benefit from just using conditioner only.
Did you know that some shampoos can be drying?
Maybe that is why I have to use lots of conditioner after washing my hair with shampoo.
Sponsored post: I received samples from Wen to facilitate this post.
My hair lately has been dry and frizzy, so I wanted to see if just conditioner washing could help. Having a Cleansing Conditioner that smelled like fresh peaches was all I needed to try this “no-poo” movement. So I stepped into my shower and wet my hair. Then I massaged some Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner into my hair. I had to remind myself that no lather was ok. It was different to clean my hair without lather or suds but when you wash without conditioner that it how it is. The peach scent was amazing- so fruity. I was craving a slice of peach pie. I got to savor the peach scent while I washed the rest of my body. Then I rinsed the cleansing condition off my hair. When I got out of my shower my hair still had an amazing peach scent. I just had to know what was in this amazing smelling cleansing conditioner, so I read the bottle. This peach scented product has amino and tea complexes in it along with peach and apricot extracts. The bottle said it could be used on all types of hair too.
Did you know that most conditioners have a small amount of gentle cleansers in them?
In the summer time I usually let my hair dry naturally but when I do use a blow dryer, I will apply some type of styling cream. Wen has many other types of hair products including styling cream. The Wen Summer Coconut Lime Verbena Styling Cream also had a nice fruity scent to it. I decided to apply this styling cream as I wanted to blow dry my hair because I had to go somewhere and did not have time to let it dry naturally. I love that the Wen Styling cream protects my hair from the heat of the blow dryer and helps tame that frizz that I get from the blow dryer. My hair felt so soft! Who knew that co-washing could give my hair such great results. I just can’t stop running my fingers through my hair.
Do you want to join the “no-poo” movement?

I LOVE Wen so much. I was using it back when the only product they sold was the Almond. It makes my hair feel like silk and helps it stay healthy.
I have not used shapoo in years now. It is funny how your scalp starts producing a lot less oil when you stop the harsh cleansers. I am down to washing my hair once a week now, if even. I am only using a baking-soda mixture since I have not really come across anything I liked. How does Wen compare to regular shampoo apart from not foaming up? What's the difference?
Wen is like using conditioner on your hair and it rinses out very well.
I shampoo my hair only every couple of days at the most, more often in the summer when I am outside a lot because I am allergic to the outside. In the winter, I use mostly conditioner to keep my hair from drying out.
I've used Wen before and my hair actually loved it, I really must get myself some more as I think it is such an interesting way to wash your hair.
I'm a twice a week 'poo'er. Oh that sounds weird. lol I us shampoo on my head about 2 times a week. Slowly getting to that no 'poo state of mind. lol I heard Wen is pretty good stuff....do you like it?
Wen hair products are something I have been wanting to try. Just haven't gotten around to it. I have heard lots of good reviews.
I have not heard of this movement nor have I joined it. But I have started washing my hair less as I get older. At first it felt disgusting after a day or two. Now I can easily go three days without a problem.
I Heave heard of Wen. I have not used it. My hair is the opposite so oily. My daughter would get great use out of Wen.
I've wanted to try the Wen products ever since watching an info-mercial some time ago. It definitely looks like a great way to get rid of the poo we can have build up on our hair.
The Wen products I have wanted to try for years. I am going to have to try Wen Summer Honey Peach Cleansing Conditioner and the Wen Summer Coconut Lime Verbena Styling Cream. Thanks for sharing a great review.
I have heard awesome things about this hair product and have always considered giving it a try!
I love the term "No-poo." It has been years since I avoid using shampoo daily. Yes, not only some but most shampoos dry the hair that is why I only use shampoo twice a week. That brand looks nice and natural. I am willing to give it a try. (Gee Ann Villaruz)
I only use conditioner everytime my hair feels too dry. That is twice or thrice a week. No poo sounds cool!
