Easy Roasted Garbanzo Beans

Garbanzo beans make a healthy irresistible vegetarian snack when they are roasted in the oven. This snack is so easy to make and you can make many flavors depending on what spices you use. All you need is a can of garbanzo beans, oil, and spices. Just be warned, these are addicting and you might just eat the whole bowl of these crunchy beans in one sitting. That is perfectly fine to do and this plant-based snack is so healthy. They are loaded with protein and fiber. These roasted beans are a delicious vegan snack that is high in protein.

Keep extra cans of garbanzo beans in your pantry

I like to keep extra cans of garbanzo beans in my pantry so I can make this healthy snack often. The homemade snack takes less than 30 minutes to make and my boys love them in their school lunches. The roasted beans can be made with so many different spices depending on your taste. I used garlic powder in my recipe but you can use other spices like rosemary or onion salt. For a spicy taste, use some crushed red pepper. You can even use dried garbanzo beans for this recipe, just cook them first. Garbanzo beans are so easy to cook in a pressure cooker or Instant Pot. You can even cook them in a slow cooker. Garbanzo beans are perfect for many meatless recipes and as a salad topping. They are high in fiber and the perfect ingredient for roasted red pepper hummus. Did you know that you can even make a gluten-free flour with dried garbanzo beans?

Roasted Garbanzo Beans

1 can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt

Oven 400F
Pat the garbanzo beans gently with a paper towel to dry them. Then place them in a bowl and add the olive oil and seasoning. Stir until beans are covered with oil and spices. Place the beans on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Stir the beans and bake 15 more minutes or until toasted and brown. Let the beans cool down and enjoy. Store leftovers in a container with a tight lid. Serves two.
