Gluten Free Berry Beet Protein Pancakes With Nuzest Coupon Code

Do you think that smoothies are the only way to use protein powder? Think again as these delicious berry beet pancakes are made with the best vegan protein powder. They are loaded with protein and are so nutritious.

I follow a mostly plant-based diet for many reasons. The main reason that I choose to eat a vegan diet is due to several food allergies with dairy being a huge allergen to me. I discovered my dairy allergy through a food elimination diet and a food allergy blood test. I did this food allergy testing after my asthma symptoms became severe. What I thought was a milk lactose issue was really a dairy allergy. So I have to be extremely careful with what I eat as one bite of dairy products can put my body into a severe asthma attack that can take several days for my body to heal.

My other food allergies are soy protein and mushrooms. Many people have a hard time understanding that I am allergic to mushrooms but when I eat them, my nose starts dripping and I develop my asthmatic cough. I am allergic to mold and mushrooms are basically mold. It was mold that caused me to have bad eczema as a kid. My eczema would be worse in the winter when my mom would use the humidifier. Once I moved out of the house, my skin cleared up. So make sure to clean your humidifier often.

Beets are loaded with nutrition and so energizing

So now that I am older and wiser about my food allergies, I follow a plant-based diet to not only avoid my food allergies but also meat. Think about it, animals are fed soy protein and then that soy is in the meat and eggs. I am not sure what animals eat mushrooms but again if an animal eats mushrooms then it can affect me. So that is why I only eat fish and eggs on occasion. I have so many other airborne asthma triggers that I can't always avoid so keeping my diet clean helps my asthma. I don't wait to experience the side effects of prescription asthma medications so by avoiding my asthma triggers, I can manage my asthma with a natural asthma supplement.

So being that I don't eat meat, I supplement my diet with a vegan protein powder. I love making smoothies with a plant-based protein powder as smoothies are a great way to get a whole bunch of nutrition into your diet. I can then add fruits and veggies along with supplements to my morning smoothie. I love adding green and red powders to my smoothies for superfoods. My favorite red powder that I have been enjoying in my smoothie has been beet powder. Beets are so nutritious and energizing! They also add a pretty color to my smoothie.

So while I was drinking my wild berry beet smoothie the other morning, the berry flavor comes from my Nuzest Wild Strawberry protein, I thought that beets would make a delicious protein pancake. My kids love my vegan chocolate protein pancakes so I had to make these healthy Berry Beet protein pancakes for breakfast. I had a gluten-free pancake mix in my pantry so it was so easy to add my favorite strawberry protein powder and beet powder to the pancake mix. You can make your pancakes from scratch if you prefer. I included a recipe for gluten-free pancakes below. You can also substitute white flour for the gluten-free flour if you don't follow a gluten-free diet. The beet powder adds awesome nutrition and color to the pancakes but not any beet taste. The pancakes have a nice berry taste, thanks to the wild strawberry plant-based protein powder.

Pancakes can be a healthy food

Adding protein powder and other superfoods to pancakes is a great way to add nutrition to your diet. When you think of pancakes, you think of a stack of sugary carb-loaded cakes with no nutrition. Pancakes used to be my favorite breakfast item as a kid, especially when we ate at the pancake restaurant. Now I can't order pancakes at a restaurant as they have milk in them. So I only enjoy pancakes at home.

The pancake batter starts out a nice dark pink color but then bakes up to look like a chocolate pancake. The best part is they taste so good with a nice berry flavor.

I remember back when I was a kid and I would order the strawberry pancakes at the pancake place. The pancakes would have strawberries and plenty of whip cream. Then I would add tons of strawberry syrup. All that sugar and milk products were probably the reason I had a stomach later that day. I look back at my diet as a kid and can see why I was sick all the time. Now I am the opposite as a mom and I strive to feed my kids and myself a healthy diet. So I make my kids healthy versions of their favorite foods. I also make allergy-friendly recipes so I can enjoy things like pancakes.

The Best Cookware For Pancakes

I have been focusing on healthy eating for a long time and lately, I have been trying to get toxic chemicals out of my life. I have done my research on cooking in Teflon and decided it was time to replace my pans with safer cookware. Back when non-stick pans became popular, it was all about getting all fats out of your diet. Now research shows that healthy fats like extra virgin olive oil are good for you. So back in the 80's we replaced good fats with the toxic chemicals of non-stick pans.

Now that I know the dangers of non-stick pans, I am using Surgical Grade Stainless Steel fry pans for my cooking. I just add olive oil to my pan before cooking and my food does not stick. The trick to cooking with stainless steel pans is knowing when to add the food to the pan. I am glad that I made the switch to these stainless steel pans. You have officially intrigued me. I do not like beets but I know that they are healthy. I have heard a lot of people use the powder but I would never have thought of using it in pancakes. I may just have to try that. Thanks for sharing.
