What is Plant Bake Protein made from?

This gluten-free baking flour is made from one simple ingredient ~ pea protein isolate. The pea protein in this simple high-protein flour is made from European golden peas. This is a pure pea protein powder with absolutely no added flavors, colors, or fillers. It’s free from gluten, dairy, soy, and GMOs. The protein bake also has a super fine texture and mild taste so it’s perfect as a high-protein flour substitute in cooking and baking.

The gluten-free brownie recipe was developed by Bethany

I discovered this recipe on the back of the Plant Bake Protein package and it sounded so delicious. I knew that I had to try this recipe first to get an idea of how this product works in recipes. The one thing that I have discovered with gluten-free baking is learning how to swap out wheat flour with gluten-free ingredients. Through many recipe failures, I have learned that flours made without wheat don't always give the same results in recipes.

I am thankful for gluten-free bloggers who have shared their gluten-free recipes as it has helped me bake gluten-free sweets. My wheat allergy was discovered about a year ago when I was receiving allergy shots for seasonal allergies

Tips and Tricks for baking with pea protein

+  Pea protein powder is much denser than wheat flour and tends to absorb a lot more liquid. If you’re trying out your own recipes, start by only substituting ¼ to ½ of the flour, and add a little extra liquid to compensate.

+ Use a measure for measure gluten-free flour ~ Gluten-free flour does not perform like wheat flour as it does not have gluten. So gluten-free baking recipes require other ingredients like xanthan and tapioca starch to replace the gluten. So using a measure for measure gluten-free flour will give better results as it has those thickener ingredients in the flour.

These 3 Ingredient Gluten-Free Applesauce Brownies are fudgy and moist. They have a rich dark chocolate taste. They are the perfect healthy treat to enjoy for healthy snacks or even breakfast. The Nuzest plant bake gives the brownies plenty of protein. These brownies contain also have no added sugar, only natural sugar from the applesauce.

Once you try these healthy brownies, you will want to learn how to bake other delicious gluten-free recipes that contain protein. Nuzest is the only plant-based protein that I will use in my gluten-free recipes and it gives the best results without changing the taste or texture of the recipe.

My personal notes for the recipe

I discovered the recipe for these brownies on the back of the Nuzest Plant Bake package and just wanted to include my personal notes for the recipe. I followed the recipe on the package and felt that my brownies were too moist( like eating pudding) and needed more texture. While the brownies had a nice dark chocolate flavor, it was a bit too dark for me.

If you are looking for a recipe that is comparable to brownies, check out my recipe for Gluten-Free Chocolate Mocha Protein Brownies. While my brownie recipe may not be ultra-healthy, it is gluten-free and dairy-free. It would be the perfect recipe to use the Nuzest Protein Bake in.
