I Love my Red Copper 5-Minute Chef
I received a Red Copper 5 Minute Chef to facilitate this post.
My omelet cooking experience all changed when the red football-shaped cooking device showed up at my house. I knew that I just had to give the Red Copper 5 Minute Chefa try, as I so wanted to be able to make a cheesy spinach omelet at home and have it resemble one, not look like scrambled eggs. I already owned the Red Copper Brownie Bonanza and loved how my brownies slid out of the pan in perfectly even slices.
So I gave the 5 Minute Chef a chance. I just had to, as this device could also make pizza and desserts. My younger boys could maybe also do some more cooking beyond the microwave as they are not allowed to use the stove/oven yet.
The Red Copper 5-Minute Chef is easy to use and very compact. This amazing one-meal cooking device stores easily in your cabinet and takes up little space on the counter. The meals for one appliance is also so easy to clean. It is the perfect single-person cooking device for making recipes for meals for one person.
The first thing that I made in the 5 Minute Chef was a salmon burger and it did an amazing job of cooking the fish. I loved that there was no messy grease splattering all over my stove as the fish was contained in the closed pan. My fish tasted so good, and it was not dried out one bit.
The 5 Minute Chef Cooker is available to purchase on Amazon. Click on the link above to get one now! This small appliance for meals for one person is amazing! It can be used to cook the best omelets, meat, fish, and even pancakes. Once you start cooking in this cooker, you will find many uses for it. I love sauteeing onions in mine.
Other cooking uses for the Red Copper 5-Minute Chef
I then used the cute red cooking device to make my omelet. I loved that I did not have to add any oil to the pan; that way, I was saving my fat grams for my cheese. The best part was that I could add the eggs, spinach (lots of it), and cheese all at the same time to the pan, instead of waiting when I cooked on my stovetop. I closed the lid of the 5 Minute Chef and waited two minutes. I then opened up the red pan, and I had a perfectly cooked omelet! I was amazed that this pan could do that. I was in egg heaven!
Do not latch the pan!
The instructions tell you to latch the pan closed, but do not follow that. I learned the hard way when I put a bit too much spinach in my omelet and it exploded when I opened the pan. I had eggs all over the kitchen. So just place your ingredients in the pan and cook. There is no need to flip the pan over.
The 5 Minute Chef came with a recipe book that had easy recipes for pizza, cake, pancakes, and more. Since the pan is so easy to use, makes no mess, and is easy to clean, I knew that I had to teach my younger boys how to use it. That way they can eat other things besides PB and J and microwaved cheese sandwiches for fend-for-yourself dinner night. I admit things get busy here and we have way too many fend-for-yourself dinner nights. Hey, how else are my boys going to learn how to cook? Great for pancakes
My ten-year-old was the most excited to try the 5 Minute Chef Panas he recognized the lady on the box from a TV commercial. He helped me make pancakes in it and it was so easy. His younger brother enjoyed having pancakes for dinner that night. Once the pan cooled down, I showed my son how to wipe the pan down with a dishcloth. Then I placed the red pan in my pantry as I knew it would get a lot of use. I think this red pan will be the start of my boys learning how to cook more and I might just put them in charge of making dinner. A recipe book comes with the pan for the instructions to cook omelets, pancakes, pizza, meat, and more.
My next recipe to make in this amazing pan is Dairy Free Vegetarian Chocolate Protein Pancakes
Place the oil in the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef. Spread the oil around on both the top and bottom of the Red Copper with a brush or a paper towel. Crack the eggs into a bowl and lightly scramble them. Add the cheese, spinach, salt, and pepper. Combine the ingredients and pour them into the 5-Minute Chef. Close the lid but do not latch. Plug the Red Cooker and let the eggs cook for five minutes.
The best way to cook a veggie burger for one. The Red Copper 5 Minute Chef makes cooking meals for one so easy. This single-meal cooker is perfect for eggs, burgers, and even pancakes.
I love homemade veggie burgers, but usually, I am the only person eating them. So I go through the process of mixing up the veggie burger ingredients and then cooking them in a pan, one at a time. Cooking several vegan burgers in a frying pan can be time-consuming. That time makes me have to wait to eat. Then there is the problem of what to do with the leftover cooked plant-based veggie burgers. Cooked veggie burgers don't freeze well. Reheating homemade veggie burgers tends to dry them out.
So I have figured out a solution to making homemade veggie burgers for one person. I have discovered that the best way to cook food for one person is with a handy single-person cooking device. My favorite single-person cooking device is a red football-shaped cooker called the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef.
This little red cooking device makes meals for one so simple. I use it for so many meals. The Red Copper Five Minute Chef makes the best omelets and eggs. This unique red cooker helps me cook meals for one without having to turn on the oven. I use the 5MC for veggie sausage, pancakes, and poached eggs. I am always experimenting with this cooking device that cooks most foods in 5 minutes.
Vegan burgers for one
The other day I was craving veggie burgers but I did not want to spend a lot of time mixing and cooking my usual veggie burger recipe. My veggie burgers are also made with beans and rice. I was hungry and I did not want to wait for the rice to cook or for the beans to cook.
I also did not want to make a large recipe of bean and rice veggie burger patties. The other problem was I only had one can of black beans in my pantry, and this recipe calls for 2 cans of beans. So, in order to make my usual burgers made with beans and rice, I would have to cook dried beans and that takes a long time.
So I grabbed the one can of black beans and some instant oatmeal from my pantry. I also grabbed my Red Copper Five Minute Chef cooker, so I could make quick veggie burgers for one person.
Don't worry if you don't own a Red Copper 5 Minute Chef as you can make this veggie burger recipe in a frying pan. Since I did not want to wait for the rice to cook, I knew that oatmeal is a great substitute for rice. Oatmeal also makes the veggie burgers so moist. Think about how your mom made meatloaf. My mom would use what she had in the house for her homemade meatloaf, and that included bread, rice, or oatmeal. If you like meatloaf, you should try my vegetarian meatloafthat tastes like real meatloaf.
I always keep several cans of beans in my pantry for quick plant-based meals or meatless meals. Sure, cooking dried beans is more economical but it can be time-consuming. Using a pressure cooker to cook beans may be faster, but it is still not quicker than opening a can of beans.
Most people complain that cooking veggie burgers with beans at home results in dried burgers that fall apart. The way to make moist veggie burgers is to make sure that the ingredients are nice and moist. So, mash up the beans and add plenty of liquid to the ingredients.
The liquid that I like to use is ketchup as it adds great flavor to the burgers. Using oatmeal also helps the burgers stay together better, as oatmeal absorbs the liquids and thickens up. So don't be afraid to add more ketchup to this veggie burger recipe as you want the bean burger mixture to feels like mushy ground beef. As long as the bean mixture forms a nice burger patty in the pan, it will cook up just fine.
The best way to mash beans
I used to use a potato masher to smoosh up my beans, but I discovered that using the bottom of a drinking glass does a better job of mashing. Plus, you don't have to worry about beans getting stuck in the crevices like you do with a potato masher.

~ This bean veggie burger recipe makes more than one burger. Depending on the size of the burger patty, you may get 2-3 veggie burgers out of the mixture.
~ This vegan burger mixture will last in the fridge for a week and longer in the freezer. So make how many burgers you will be eating and then store the mixture in the fridge for another meal. That way you can have a fresh, moist burger that is cooked to order for each meal occasion.
~ Serve the veggie burgers on buns with desired toppings like lettuce, tomato, ketchup, etc. I like to place my burger in a tortilla or on a plate of greens.
A unique way to cook up a veggie burger for one that is moist and flavorful
Ingredients:
One can of beans ( black or pinto), drained
3/4 cup of instant oatmeal
1/4 cup of ketchup
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Oil for cooking
Instructions:
Place the beans in a large mixing bowl and mash them well with the bottom of a glass, a potato masher, or a fork.
Add all the remaining ingredients to the bowl with the mashed beans. Stir well. To get the veggie burger mixture combined thoroughly, I like to mix it with my clean hands. Don't worry about germs as cooking the veggie burgers will kill any germs in the food. If the mixture is dry just add more ketchup.
If using the 5 Minute Chef to cook the burgers, lightly coat both sides of the cooker with oil. Then place enough mixture to fill up one side of the cooker, pressing it down with a spoon.
Cook the burgers for ten minutes in the 5 Minute Chef, turning the device over halfway.
If cooking the burgers in a frying pan follow the bellow steps:
To assemble the veggie burgers, take a 1/2 well-packed cup of the mixture, and use your hands to form it into a burger shape.
Heat up a skillet to medium heat and lightly coat it with oil.
Place the formed burger into the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side.
Serve the veggie burgers on buns with desired toppings like lettuce, tomato, ketchup, etc. Store leftover burger mixture in the fridge for a week or in the freezer for 6 months.
An easy way to make egg foo young for a meal for one person. The Red Copper Chef makes the most amazing egg foo young. A few simple ingredients are all you need.
I discovered a red cooking device that makes a perfect omelet. The Red Copper 5 Minute Chef also cooks many other things like chocolate pancakes and cake. It is a small appliance that my younger boys are allowed to use, as I do not allow them to use the stove just yet, as we have a gas stove. I am afraid that the boys would not turn on the gas correctly. The Red Copper Chef is easy for my boys to use, as all they have to do is plug it in and wait for the green light to turn on. I have taught my boys how many minutes it takes to cook pancakes so they are able to cook their own breakfast.
This cooking device for one makes the most amazing egg foo young in minutes. This appliance is so easy to use. Just mix the ingredients and pour into the cooker. Close the lid and in less than five minutes, you will have a perfectly cooked egg foo young patty. The best part is how easy the 5 Minute Chef is to clean.
A red football-shaped device makes cooking so easy
Since the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef makes cooking so easy, I knew that I had to try other recipes in this cooking device. I thought about a recipe that I love to make, but it is hard to make. The recipe that came to my mind was egg foo young. I love egg foo young, but when I make it at home, it never looks as good as the ones I get from Chinese restaurants.
I have a recipe that tastes just as good as Chinese takeout egg foo young, but I wanted to see if the 5 Minute Chef could make it look good too. So I made my egg foo young recipe and poured some into the red cooker.
Never latch The Red Copper 5 Minute Chef I am not sure why there is a latch on the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef. When I first used this device, I made the mistake of latching it while cooking eggs, as I thought the video that I watched told me to do so. Big mistake! I must have overfilled the cooker, or the pressure must have built up inside. When I opened up the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef, it exploded and I had eggs everywhere. So even if you come across directions to latch the red cooker, do not, as it just might explode eggs all over your kitchen.
My egg foo young recipe has many different oils and sauces in it so it may seem complicated. The recipe really needs all these ingredients for the best flavor and once you measure them all out, the rest of the recipe is simple. The only part that is not so simple is forming the egg foo young into nicely shaped patties. When I make the recipe in a regular pan, the patties may look funny, but they still taste delicious.
Perfectly formed egg foo young in the Red Copper pan The Red Copper 5 Minute Chef changes all that as it forms the egg foo young into nice thick patties. I am so glad that I decided to cook them in this football-shaped cooker. If you do not have one of these red cooking devices, then you can make the egg foo young in a regular fry pan. Get those instructions HERE.
If you want a super-easy way to make egg foo young, then check out my Egg Foo Young Frittata recipe. Even the sauce is super easy to make as it only uses three ingredients. Did you know that you could make the egg foo young sauce with brown gravy?

About a year ago, I received ared football-shaped cooking deviceand discovered how it made wonderful omelets. I also discovered many readers who love using their Red Copper 5 Minute Chef for easy meals. One reader uses their 5 Minute Chef in their RV while on the road and others use it for eggs. I loved that one reader shared how she makes corn dogs in the Red Copper pan. I just had to make her recipe as it sounded delicious. She simply takes a cornbread mix and hot dogs to make her delicious corn dog recipe. The best part is that these corn dogs are baked, not fried. So it makes corn dogs a bit healthier.
The original Red Copper 5 Minute Chef is no longer available on Amazon but this omelet maker is amazing
Never latch The Red Copper 5 Minute Chef
I am not sure why there is a latch on the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef. When I first used this device, I made the mistake of latching it while cooking eggsas I thought the video that I watched told me to do so. Big mistake! I must have overfilled the cooker or the pressure must have built up inside. When I opened up the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef, it exploded and I had eggs everywhere. So even if you come across directions to latch the red cooker, do not latch it, as it just might explode eggs all over your kitchen.
My boys loved that they could enjoy corn dogs without having to visit the drive-thru place near our house. Since this recipe is a bit healthier, it also means that my boys can enjoy corn dogs more often, especially if I use turkey dogs in the cornbread mix. Sure they may not look like regular corn dogs but they still taste yummy. I can also make this corn dog recipe vegetarian & dairy-free if I use veggie dogs and plant-based milk in the recipe.
To make the corn dogs in the Red Copper 5 Minute Chef all you need is hot dogs and a package of cornbread mix. If you want to make the cornbread from scratch, you can do that also like I did as I had cornmeal in my pantry. You will also need other ingredients like eggs, oil, and milk if you buy a cornbread mix. Making cornbread from scratch is easy too as all you need is a box of cornmeal and other simple ingredients like baking powder and salt. So if you make a lot of cornbread then buy the ingredients but if you just want to try the recipe, then buy a cornbread mix.
You can even slice the corn dog and add sticks
This Red Copper 5 Minute Chef is so handy in the kitchen I love using it for quick meals. The other day I made eggs in it and last night, I made my husband a chicken breast to pack in his lunch. The small cooker cleans up so fast too. If you don't have a Red Copper 5 Minute Chef then you should get one. If you want to make baked corn dogs without this red device, then just bake the hot dogs in the cornbread following the directions on your cornbread mix as it still tastes so delicious. My family really loves this healthier way of making corn dogs. Check out my recipe for egg foo young in the 5 Minute Chef https://www.momknowsbest.net/2019/01/easy-egg-foo-young-recipe-with-red.html
