How Can A Mom Prepare Healthy Food For Her Kids When In A Rush?

When feeding your kids, you need to ensure they're getting the best possible nutrition. But sometimes, life gets in the way, and you find yourselves short on time. But that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice healthy eating, though. With a little planning and preparation, you can ensure your kids get the nutritious food they need, even when you're short on time. Here are some tips on how to do just that.

Plan Ahead

When you know what you're going to make, you won't have to spend time deciding on something at the last minute. And if you have all the ingredients ready, it'll be even easier to whip up a meal.

So take some time on the weekends to think about what meals your family would like during the week, and write them down, so you don't forget. Then when Monday morning comes around and things are hectic, at least you'll already have a plan in place.

You can also do some prep work on Sunday night or early Monday morning. Chop up vegetables, hard-boil some eggs, or cook a pot of rice or quinoa, so it's ready to go during the week. That way, when it comes time to actually make dinner, you won't have to spend as much time on the cooking itself.

Cook In Bulk

If you want to save time, cooking in bulk is the way to go. Make a big batch of chili or soup that can last a few days, or cook a whole chicken on the weekends, so you have meat for the week.

You can also freeze extra food always to have something healthy and homemade on hand. Just ensure you're using freezer-safe containers, so your food doesn't get freezer burn.

Cooking in bulk might take a little more time upfront, but it'll save you time (and money) in the long run. Lots of Aussie moms are buying a pressure canner in Australia that is large enough to make more food than what's needed at the moment. This will give you an advantage regarding meals, while also saving tons of time because you'll use only a few kitchen supplies.

Take Advantage of Supplements

In addition to a healthy diet, kids need to get the right vitamins and minerals for their growth and development. According to the experienced team at thesupplementreviews.org, to ensure your child gets all the nutrients they need is to have supplements at hand. If you're not sure what kind of supplement is right for your child, talk to their pediatrician. They can help you choose a product that's safe and effective.

There are many benefits to taking supplements, including helping your child get the necessary nutrients for proper growth and development. Supplements can also help fill in any gaps in your child's diet, and they can be a great way to ensure your child is getting the nutrients they need.

Make Simple Meals

You don't have to make an elaborate dish to feed your family healthy food. Sometimes, the simplest meals are the best. And when you're short on time, it's even more important to keep things simple.

So instead of trying to make a complicated recipe, focus on making something that doesn't require a lot of ingredients or steps. Grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, and soup are practical options that will take hours to prepare.

If you're really in a bind, there are also plenty of quick and healthy recipes you can find online or in cookbooks. Just search for "quick and easy dinner recipes," and you'll be sure to find something everyone will love.

Get Your Kids Involved

One of the best ways to ensure your kids eat a healthy diet is to involve them in the process. Let them help you cook or choose what fruits and vegetables they want to eat that week.

If you involve your kids in meal planning and preparation, they'll be more likely to eat what you make because they'll feel like they had a hand in it. And who knows, maybe you'll even get them interested in cooking.

Make A Smoothie

A smoothie is a great way to get fruits, vegetables, and the benefits of proteins all in one meal. If you're short on time, you can even make them ahead of time and store them in the fridge for later. Just blend up some fruit, add yogurt or milk, and voila! You have a healthy and delicious snack that's perfect for busy days. There are endless possibilities when it comes to making smoothies. Get creative and experiment with different flavor combinations until you find ones your kids love.

If you're looking for something a little more unique, try adding spinach or kale to your next smoothie. You won't even taste it, and your kids will get an extra serving of vegetables without even knowing it.

There are plenty of ways to ensure your kids are getting the healthy food they need, even when you're short on time. By planning ahead, making simple meals, cooking in bulk, and keeping healthy snacks on hand, you'll be able to fit nutritious food into your busy schedule easily. So don't stress out with a little bit of effort. You can make it happen.

6 Healthy Snack Ideas That You Can Easily Make For Your Kids

Your kids can be an absolute nightmare when it comes to food, and sometimes, you just do not know what to do, so you basically give in and give them the food they demanded, just for them not to be hungry. This is unfortunately rooted in their poor eating habits that you unintentionally created when allowing them to feel the taste of the junk food and get used to it as the top tier of taste. However, nothing is lost since you can trick them into liking some healthier alternatives, and also by including them in meal planning and preparation. This will give them a feeling of importance and they will enjoy the food they prepared. Let’s try this step by step, and let’s begin with snacks. Here are six easy and amazing snack ideas that your children will absolutely adore.

Peanut Butter and Jam Rolls

The taste of peanut butter and strawberry jam is unmatched and everything you need for this is literally a couple of bread slices, creamy peanut butter, and strawberry jam. The procedure is the easiest thing ever. Take your bread slices and cover them with peanut butter, roll it so you get perfect rolls, and secure them with wooden sticks so that the contents of the rolls do not fall out. When you are finished with making your rolls, drizzle them with strawberry jam. This snack is packed with peanut butter protein, fibers, and carbohydrates that will give your children energy and promote healthy muscle growth. Plus, it’s a great way to get your kids interested in trying new tastes.

Hot Dog

Old, good chap, hot dog. Probably one of the most cherished foods regardless of the occasion. Whether you get it as the pre-game snack or make it as your own snack back home, the taste of this classic will make your taste buds dance. For years, hot dogs were satanized because of their bad reputation of it being fast food. However, hot dogs contain some pretty important nutrients such as proteins as the base of every kind of healthy nutrition, fibers, fats, and carbohydrates. There are numerous ways to make hot dogs, and some of the recipes you can find at https://www.thehotdog.org/, but the classical one is definitely our favorite. Cooked or grilled hot dogs, in a nice, warm bun, drizzled with high-quality mustard, or in a combination with some other condiments will make you remember why you love hot dogs.

Apples and Peanut Butter

This is the yummiest and quickest snack you can serve to your little ones without worrying about the nutritious side. You have fibers and antioxidants in apples, and taste and proteins in peanut butter. All you need to do is to slice your apples and add in some peanut butter and fresh lime juice. You can also make this as a salad by cutting your apples into cubes and adding in some other fruit such as pears, and covered in a generous scoop of peanut butter.

Fresh Fruit Salad

If you're stumped as to what to offer your kids for a snack before dinner and want to avoid all those bags of chips, then fresh fruit salad is the answer. Grab all the fruit you have in your kitchen before it gets spoiled, cut it in the cubes, add in some fresh lime juice, a drizzle of maple syrup, and some mint for an even fresher taste, and enjoy the view of your children being absolutely delighted. If you want to go for some additional taste and creaminess, add a scoop of ice cream.

Pizza Toast

You do not have to go miles for making a perfect pizza, all you need you already have in your kitchen, and there is no possibly faster way of making a perfect pizza taste. All you will need is a couple of toast slices, pizza sauce, shredded cheese, and pepperoni. Cover all the toast slices in pizza sauce, put on the shredded cheese, and pepperoni, and put it in the oven until the cheese is melted and the bread is nice and crispy. Pizza is not famous among healthy food, but prepared like this, has a considerably lower caloric index.

Chocolate Oat Bites

If you are not a fan of baking, these oat bites are a perfect thing for you. The ingredients you will need for this recipe are old-fashioned rolled oats, chopped peanuts, chocolate chips, raisins, melted peanut butter, a tablespoon of honey, and a pinch of salt. Put all the ingredients together and stir until fully combined. Once the mixture is prepared, shape it into small bites and refrigerate before serving.

It is quite a task to prepare healthy meals and snacks for your children if we bear in mind how demanding they can be when it comes to food. Luckily, today, there are loads of easy and quick recipes that your children will absolutely adore.

4 Unfortunate Reasons Single Moms Are More Prone To Drug Addiction

It is no secret that drug addiction is a problem in our country. What may be less well-known, however, is that this problem is especially prevalent among single mothers than any other demographic. This may be because of the stress of being a single parent, juggling a lot of responsibilities, or the lack of support systems. However, there are ways single mothers can overcome drug addiction and get their life back on track. Here are some tips to help you get started.

1. Making Ends Meet

Let’s face it, being a single parent is exhausting as you have to work extra hard to provide for them; pay the rent, buy the groceries, school expenses, and if they are not in school, paying for their day-care. And that just covers the most basic expenses.

This often means putting in extra hours at work or getting a second job which is definitely exhausting. Moms struggle to take time for themselves and don't even have time for exercise. In such circumstances, our natural extinction to escape the harsh reality causes single mothers to turn to alcohol or drugs.

2. Lack of Treatment Options

One of the primary reasons single parents or especially mothers remain stuck in the drug abuse cycle is that they are not aware of the possible treatment options. Many fear that they will have to move into a rehab facility and leave their child with someone else.

Moreover, some avoid seeking help as they run the risk of losing custody of their child due to their substance or alcohol abuse. Choosing to go to rehab, however, shows that you are taking responsibility for your life and striving to improve yourself for the sake of your child.

However, nowadays with outpatient treatment centers, single mothers can seek much-needed help for their drug abuse disorder. They will only have to visit the center a few times a week and for only a few hours.

3. No Support System

“It takes a village to raise a child” but imagine having to do it all without the support of a partner or in most cases the help from friends or family. As a result, many single mothers are overwhelmed and stressed out as they struggle with the myriad of responsibilities that come with raising a child alone.

The lack of support systems also puts them at a higher risk for drug abuse because this offers them an escape from reality. The experts from itstimeforrehab.com can explain how the feeling of being left to their own devices can lead to self-medication with drugs or alcohol, which can quickly spiral into a full-blown addiction. They feel the need to numb themselves due to the daily stressors they face, hence the over-consumption of drugs.

4. Emotional Toll

The American Psychological Association recently came out with the results of its annual Stress in America survey, which found that single mothers are at greater risk for depression than any other type of caregiver. The study showed that one-third of all single moms experience clinical depression or an "extreme case" of not being able to shake the blues.

As discussed above, single mothers are vulnerable to spiraling into depression and anxiety due to the stress of juggling finances, social obligations, and domestic duties. To combat these feelings, many often turn towards alcohol or Xanax but in some cases, it leads to substance abuse.

Recovery is Possible, Don’t Lose Hope

Going to a therapist or counselor can help you figure out if there are any underlying issues causing the addiction that might be the first step towards your recovery. The good news is that counseling and therapy have been shown to be effective in overcoming drug addictions in both men and women. However, that is only possible if your Substance Abuse Disorder (SAD) is at a very early stage.

Outpatient Rehab Center

However, if your dependence on drugs or alcohol is spiraling out of control to the point that has started to interfere with your or your child’s quality of life, then enrolling yourself in a drug recovery program is more favorable.

For single parents, outpatient recovery programs provide them with the freedom to receive treatment without having to worry about childcare. With such programs, they will only have to visit the facility 2-3 times a week (depending on their treatment program). Moreover, they can enjoy the flexibility of scheduling appointments according to their convenience.

Most importantly, these programs are much more financially compatible with single mothers than a residential treatment facility as it doesn’t include the cost of lodging. However, in severe cases of drug addiction, we recommend a partial or full residential treatment program since they provide 24/7 assistance combined with a completely drug-free environment without any possible triggers.

In conclusion, while being a single mother is difficult in and of itself, it can also be quite challenging when trying to overcome addiction. However, there are many resources available for those seeking help such as organizations specifically designed to help single mothers recover from addiction, as well as hotlines and online support groups that can offer assistance 24 hours a day. Don’t try to go through it all alone.  You can do it!

Healthy Drinks That You Need To Try

While your main choice of daily liquid intake should be water, including these healthy liquids can have some awesome benefits to your body.

When it comes to getting your daily liquids, one should focus on drinking plenty of water. Our body, on average, is 60% water. Through things like sweating, breathing, and excretion, we need to make sure to replenish the water in our bodies. So drinking plenty of water throughout the day is always a good thing.

While water is an amazing liquid, there are plenty of other liquid choices that can be also good for your body. I have a couple of different liquids that are always in my daily liquid intake routine. Of course, my main liquid consumption comes from water but I drink other liquids for things like nutrition benefits and because water can get boring. So check out my favorite liquid choices that I enjoy for a healthy body. Some of the drinks are ones that I have been drinking for a while and others are new to me liquids.

Excuse me while I go get a glass of water

All this thinking about liquids and drinks made me thirsty. I usually am a good water drinker and I try to drink water throughout the day. I usually drink about 12-15 glasses of water a day as I am active. My day starts out with a big glass of water. To encourage myself to drink water, I try to keep a large bottle of water in my office space. Just seeing the bottle of water reminds me to drink water while I work.

+ 2 cups of coffee ~ my favorite way to drink water

+ Several more glasses of water throughout the day

+ A ready-made vegan smoothie when I am too busy to stop for lunch ~ or need something to eat on the go.

Liquid Einstein Health Focus Blend

I always start my day with a glass of water as soon as I get out of bed. Your body has gone at least 8 hours without water so it needs to be rehydrated. For me, that glass of water also helps me wake up and gives me more energy than a cup of coffee. I usually add some type of energy to my glass of water since I exercise in the morning. My favorite energy supplement is Liquid Einstein. This orange-flavored powder mixes well in a glass of water and tastes like orange juice. Liquid Einstein has plenty of caffeine to help power me through my workout and it also has natural brain fuel supplements in the energy stick package. So the caffeine gives me the energy to exercise in the morning and the brain fuel supplement helps my brain wake up. This brain energy lasts long after my workout and helps me be productive with my work.

Water with my supplements

After I finish my exercise routine on my elliptical machine with ifit, I drink another glass of water. This glass of water helps me to take all my daily supplements. My supplement stash usually includes a multivitamin, turmeric, Resveratrol, Astaxanthin, and zinc. I just started taking the Resveratrol as I love the benefits of healthy aging, balanced metabolism & blood sugar, heart health, radiant skin, and more. It’s like red wine for your skin. Astaxanthin is full of natural antioxidants while zinc is great for my skin.

Nuzest Plant-Based Protein

My daily breakfast is always a plant-based smoothie that contains frozen fruit, a fiber supplement, and 20 grams of protein from my favorite allergy-friendly protein powder.  Nuzest protein is dairy-free, gluten-free, low carb, and mixes up the best in water. Since Nuzest comes in so many flavors I can make a different flavored smoothie every day. My favorite smoothie combination is blueberries and Rich Chocolate Nuzest.

This unique fiber supplement is designed for women and is what keeps me regular. So I don't have to experience digestive problems or constipation. Regular Girl fiber also has no nasty side effects like gas or bloating.

To my cup of coffee, I add plant-based milk and some time of sweetener like monk fruit. For me, coffee is a way to get healthy antioxidants into my body and coffee also has other benefits like brain health. My daily coffee helps my brain think better.

¡CACTUS! Organic Cactus Water

On days that I work up a sweat from exercising or from being outside in the heat, I always drink an electrolyte hydration drink. I just discover a drink made from organic nopal cactus leaves. Since I love harvesting and eating prickly pears, I just had to try this drink. I just love the colorful ¡CACTUS! Organic Cactus Water, cans! This delicious drink contains antioxidants, electrolytes, and amino acids. ¡CACTUS!, known as the Desert Hydrator, is available in lime, papaya, and watermelon flavors and is low in sugar and calories.

6 Fashion Essentials For Moms

Although styles change all of the time, some staples remain critical components of the superhero mom wardrobe. Learning how to use these clothing must-haves with new trends is the key to maintaining the fashion essentials you need in your closet. To help you separate the must-haves from the items to part ways with, here are six tips on the fashion essentials every hardworking mom needs.

1. Blue Denim Jeans

Jeans are just a wardrobe staple for everyone! They have been and continue to be the most practical and versatile kind of pants to wear regularly. Jeans are available in different shades, styles, washes, fits, customized to suit your style, and are made to fit a wide range of bodies. You can easily find jeans to match your style, personality, and physique. Look for relaxed jeans for women if you want to opt for a more comfortable style that is still cute and trendy.

2. Classic White T-shirts

White t-shirts are the perfect base layer for everyday outfits. Whether you want to pair them with a cardigan, scarf, blazer, or just on their own, white t-shirts are the neutral friend your wardrobe needs to make outfits come together. You can find t-shirts in all different cuts, including crew, v-neck, and u-neck styles. Don't assume that a plain white t-shirt is boring. It can create the balance you need to incorporate all the colors and styles you want with every outfit you create.

3. Black Shiny Slacks

Go with shiny black slacks for dinners out, dates, and casual Fridays at the office. You can find them in many silky fabrics for a slightly upscale look that won't draw too much attention. Pair these types of pants with loose-fitting blouses, silk tops, or your favorite blazer to be walking in style. Use accessories like a cute handbag and some jewelry, add some of your favorite beauty essentials, and you are ready for a night out!

4. Black Boots

Boots are another fashion staple, plus there are so many options and styles to choose! Many tend to be comfortable, and black boots can be perfect for a day out, or you can get a more rugged pair for looking cute while you’re gardening. As long as you go for durable boots made of good quality leather or vegan alternatives (with waterproof features), they're the perfect footwear choice for everyday wear. Pro tip: look for black boots with fleece lining on the heel to keep your feet warm during the winter months!

5. A Plaid Flannel

Plaid flannels are there to rescue you whenever you need to throw something on and look good without trying. They work with black slacks and jeans for a versatile look that moms need in their closets. Today, you can find the classic red plaid flannel in various colors and styles, perfect for winter, fall, or spring. Depending on the season, look for different materials to stay cool or warm.

6. A Zip Up Hoodie

For those days you want to wear something casual that looks cute with jeans, hoodies with zippers are perfect. You can wear any top underneath, be it your favorite t-shirt or tank top, and still be rocking in style. Go for neutral colors so you can throw it on over anything for those cold mornings when you’re going to grab a cup of coffee or on your way to the gym.  Form-fitting materials like breathable cotton make great outing hoodies for lunch dates, hanging out with family, and movie nights.

The Bottom Line

For moms, fashion essentials are about versatility. As busy women on the move, you want to look for clothing items that make it possible to create outfits using the same defining features. Neutral colors, denim staples, and classic tops are easy to include in your everyday wardrobe and can be used in many ways!

4 Time Saving Tips For New Moms

As a new mom, you're looking for ways to make the most of your time without overworking yourself. You're now responsible for another human being, a challenging yet rewarding position. You want the best for your little one, and you know that you need to show up for yourself to do your best. Here are four time-saving tips for new moms like you.

1. Use Delivery Services

Caring for your baby means you'll be spending a lot of time at home. Between feedings, naps, playtime, and all the research you’re probably doing on the products you purchase, you likely won’t have time to run to the store and get the other necessary baby items you need to make your little one feel cared for.

To combat this scheduling conflict, you can rely on diaper delivery services and get your own meals delivered. You can also have prescriptions, groceries, and other essentials delivered straight to your door using the plethora of delivery services available to you. Make use of these options and download the necessary apps so that you have one less thing to stress about while caring for your baby.

2. Wake Up Early

Mornings are special. They give you a head start on your day and remind you that there is more time available than you realize if you're willing to wake up with the sun! If you need five minutes of peace for yourself before your new baby wakes up, this is the time to do that. Busy moms and successful entrepreneurs alike cherish early hours. They all know the secret: mornings are magic.

During this time, you can have your coffee, schedule out plans for the day, and prepare in advance for the napping schedule you're trying to establish with your little one. An early rise gives you a way to take an immediate step in the right direction as you welcome a brand new day.

3. Nap When Baby Naps

One of the most challenging parts of becoming a new mom is finding enough time to sleep. It can quickly become exhausting when you wake up every few hours to care for your baby. Instead of running on empty, try to sleep when the baby is sleeping. If you can, get someone to monitor the household while you sleep. This way, if the baby does get up, that person can assist with caring for them while you get the nap you need. Rely on those around you to make parenting easier as you transition into this new role.

4. Use A Daily Planner

As a new mom, you have many to-do lists and responsibilities to take care of, and it can quickly become overwhelming. Plus, the need to multitask can leave you feeling frazzled and forgetful about what needs to get done every day. To make scheduling and remembering your plans easier, use a daily planner to track everything.

You can even include baby feedings and nap times in there as well to help out anyone who is helping you take care of your little one. Many daily planners are designed especially for new moms, so you will easily find a practical planner that works for you! With a planner, you can check things off as you go, leaving you both organized and feeling a sense of accomplishment.

Use Your Resources, Supermom

To save time as a new mom, make the most of your mornings, rely on delivery services and those in your life who are willing to help out, nap when the baby is napping, and schedule your to-dos with a mommy planner to stay on track. If you utilize all these resources, you're on track to becoming a supermom.
