Peeps Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Sponsored post. I received a box of many, many delicious Peeps to enjoy.

Peeps and white chocolate equals yummy! Add salty pretzels and I am in heaven!

Every Easter I get excited as that means soft delicious chewy Peeps. I know you can get Peeps at other holidays but Easter is the only time I indulge and stock up on those marshmallow Peeps. It used to be that Peeps were only available at Easter time and I remember getting them in my Easter basket. So my tradition is only to buy Peeps for my kid's Easter baskets. When I buy those soft bunnies and chicks for my kids, I also stock up on plenty for me. I love that Peeps come in many colors so I can choose a different color for each kid.

Since I was sent so many Peeps, I decided to have some fun(making the chocolate covered pretzels) with them beyond just putting them in my kid's Easter basket. Did you know Peeps came in other flavors? Did you know that there are Peeps dipped in chocolate? I knew that some of these different flavors existed but I was surprised at all the different types and flavors of Peeps. Some of these I have never seen in my stores and I am glad that I can purchase them online at the Peep Website: https://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/ I am going to have a hard time sharing all of these Peeps with my kids. I think on Easter, we will have to have a Peep tasting party so we can all experience these delicious new to us flavors.

So after I divided up all the yummy Peeps for my kid's Easter baskets, I grabbed a couple of boxes for my chocolate covered pretzels. My kids saw the couple of boxes of Peeps that I grabbed and wanted to eat them but I told them I was creating with them. They have know idea about about all the other boxes I put aside for their baskets. Shh, don't tell them! They are going to be so surprised on Easter morning.                                                           Now for the recipe!

                      Peeps Chocolate Covered Pretzels
                      one bag pretzel rods
                       one bag regular pretzels
                       one package white chocolate chips
                       assorted sprinkles in Easter colors
packages of Peeps bunnies and chicks, in desired colors

These pretzels are so easy and fun to make. Lay out some wax paper or silicone baking mats. Then place the sprinkles in bowls. Open the bags of pretzels so the are ready after you melt the white chocolate. Place the white chocolate in a microwave safe dish and cook for high for 1 minute. Stir the chocolate and microwave in 30-second increments until melted. TIP: Do not lick or get the spoon wet as this will cause your chocolate to become crumbly and unuseable.

Once the chocolate is melted, dip the pretzels, one at a time, into it. Use a spoon to get the chocolate all over the pretzel. Lift the pretzel up over the bowl and allow the excess to drip off. The hold the pretzel over the sprinkle bowl and sprinkle the sprinkles over the chocolate, turning the pretzel to get all the sides. Place the sprinkle, chocolate covered pretzel on the wax paper/silicone mat. Then grab one Peep and dip the back or bottom into the melted chocolate. Then let the excess drip off and stick it to the pretzel. Repeat until all the desired Peeps and pretzels are used.

YUM, I went ahead and G+ this post to save hehe. Sounds so good I need to try or make these with my son for Easter dessert or something. It needs to be done. Now is it better with just white chocolate or do you recommend chocolate as well?

I love the pretzel idea! I think eating so many as a child I just can't bring myself to eat them anymore.
The pretzel gives it a little saltier taste to balance out the sweetness.
